Were off and away into 2007, and to be honest it’s been none stop already!
I am finding it tricky to make time for this blog! In a nutshell, all is well. We had a nice exit out of 2006 and entry into 2007.
Angel and I managed to get a bit of carp fishing in last day, that’s right, 31st December 2006, we went out and had a couple of plump golden Madrilenian common carp, argggh…
The winning bait for Angel was dried Goji Berries / Fruta la Bosque (in Spain).
To our surprise his run was a ripper and what a nice final fish of the year 20.03lbs.
I on the other hand had a smaller bar of gold 15.08lbs. My fish didn’t fall for the Goji fruit trap, rather a trusty 15mm Halibut Pellet. I also had some action on my other rod but the un-seen fish managed to snag me and was lost..
Spirits were high and we had all the trimmings with an overly confident Robin popping into our bait box for hemp and other treats.
The day was topped off by a visit from a real Saint, the lakes very own Senor Ortega; this man has fished the water for more than 30 years and is something of a legend. I had really wanted to speak with him about the water, so when he showed up, I was more than happy!
He wasn’t fishing, just taking a stroll and asking how we were getting on, it was great to speak with the real man about the water and it did feel like Papa Noel had arrived. In true character he filled us in with some very tasty treats which I will disclose at another time.
For now we hope you enjoy our festive photos, much more coming really soon.
