Barbel is us!

Should I say Barbel-ish-ous? Mmmmh, either way these munching torpedoes are falling thick and fast to The Method. In the photos you can see my mate Raul (above) with a lovely fish and myself later with a low double.

These Barbel are suckers for the Method and our mix of hemp and Halibut Pellet is once again doing the biz. Although were not getting the so called MONSTER big fish were content with what were pulling in!

After all Sept. is just upon us and as a general rule of thumb in winter the better fish do come, don’t they? This weekend I took another 7 Carp to 15lb. and yet another dobbing 3lb 9oz Crucian Carp. The fish to my mind are defo. gearing up for the big cool down and getting their Missy Elliot – feed on! 7 fish represents an inrease of fish for a session and could be linked with the recent drop in temp. It’s impressive how quickly the cold snap in Madrid kicks in, just over 2 weeks and it’s gone from 40 Deg C and 27 Deg C nights to a much more comfortable 24 Deg C (day) and 6 Deg at night.

Carp being unable to change their own body temp. means mother nature does if for them, so aware of the change they are. At last the winter is coming, hooray!

My first season of fishing in Spain is not over yet, it will be as of end Oct 2006, and it’s my intention to add a few target fish to my list before that time comes, role on the chop, chill and wind, roll on.

Tight lines.
